Meriah-Aceh Tengah alternative connecting bridge is broken
Buletin Digital. The bridge that connects Bener Meriah Regency and Central Aceh Regency is broken. As a result, the bridge could not be traversed and the vehicle had to be diverted through other alternative routes.
The bridge entered the national route which can connect the middle crossing of the Aceh Province from Bireuen, Bener Meriah, to Central Aceh and other regions. The bridge is precisely located in the Jamur Ujung Village, Wih Pesan District, Bener Meriah.
"It happened around 17.25 WIB. The flood disaster in the Wih Pesam area resulted in a cross-national bridge being cut off at the Jamur Ujung Village," said Wih Pesam police chief Ipda M Nasir in a statement on Wednesday (12/19/2018).
According to Nasir, this disaster occurred due to rainfall in the Bukit Subdistrict and Wih Pesam which was so high that the river water discharge from the Rambele Airport to the Ujung Mushroom Village grew bigger and eroded the bridge poles and buffer walls so that the bridge was completely broken.
The police were assisted by local village officials then to the location to conduct security. They also appealed to the people whose homes around the bridge or river flow to temporarily evacuate to safer places. Because, landslides in the river flow continues to expand.
In addition to the Jamur Ujung Village, the community informed that a landslide had also occurred on the national road in Gegerung village. As a result, the traffic in the region has stalled.
"At present police personnel have made security at the location of the bridge break so that the community is not close and the traffic flow arrangements on alternative routes," Nasir said.
Nasir said that motorists who were going towards central Aceh could access Bireuen-Takengon traffic through alternative routes from Kampung Suka Jadi road or use the two Pante Raya lines to Simpang Tiga and Teritit.
